How much does it cost to hire a barista for an event?
It depends on your guest count, how long you need service, and how many baristas your event calls for. Gondolier Coffee books baristas as part of a complete mobile espresso bar — cart, commercial equipment, drinks and supplies included — rather than charging an hourly staffing rate. Most Twin Cities events fall into one of our three packages. Request an instant quote and we'll price your exact date.
What is an event barista?
An event barista is a trained coffee professional who brings café-quality espresso service to your venue instead of you going to a coffee shop. Ours arrive early, set up a full mobile espresso bar, pull shots and steam milk to order for your guests, handle the line, and pack everything out when service ends.
How many baristas do I need for my event?
As a rule of thumb, one barista comfortably serves a smaller gathering, while larger corporate events and weddings run better with two to four baristas on multiple machines to keep the line moving. We staff 1–4 professional baristas depending on guest count and service window, and we'll recommend the right number when we quote your event.
Do I need to tip the baristas?
Tipping is never required — your quote covers the full service. Guests sometimes tip at the cart and hosts occasionally add a gratuity for the team, but it's entirely optional and never expected.
Do you bring the espresso machine and everything else?
Yes. We bring the cart, commercial espresso machines, grinders, coffee, syrups, dairy and dairy-free milks, cups, lids and all supplies. All we need from you is a 5×5 ft space and a standard outlet — indoors or outdoors.
